The Wolf Among Us Trophy & Fables Guide

Understand the original trophy structure and Book of Fables cleanup, with a clear boundary around the unverified remaster achievement list.

Is this a confirmed remaster trophy guide?

No: this is a verified original-list reference, pending remaster list and trigger verification. Use it to understand the original completion structure, not as proof that a new PlayStation or Steam release has identical requirements. The platform guide and edition comparison track new-edition information separately.

The original Steam listing confirms Steam Achievements. IGN’s original achievement-and-trophy reference lists chapter-completion awards and one Book of Fables completion award per episode. Platform terminology matters: an Xbox achievement is not a PlayStation trophy, and a PlayStation platinum should not be advertised as a reward on every platform.

How is the original list structured?

The original reference lists five chapter-completion awards and an episode-completion award for each of the five episodes. Those make 30 progression awards across the season. Five additional awards require all Book of Fables entries for their respective episodes. The PlayStation list also includes Full Moon, the platinum for earning every trophy across the season.

Episode Original Book of Fables award
Faith Novice Librarian
Smoke and Mirrors Apprentice Librarian
A Crooked Mile Journeyman Librarian
In Sheep’s Clothing Master Librarian
Cry Wolf Grand Master Librarian

This is why completing the story and completing the full list are different goals. Finishing an episode supplies its progression award, while missing an optional lore entry can leave its Librarian award locked. Do not assume that choosing the kindest dialogue automatically fills the book.

What is the Book of Fables?

It is the game’s lore collection for characters, institutions, and the world around them. Some entries arrive naturally as the investigation introduces new people. Others depend on optional inspection or on how a scene is resolved. The book is useful during a first playthrough because it explains references without requiring prior knowledge of the comics.

When you enter an explorable room, inspect optional objects and finish available conversations before choosing the obvious exit or story-advancing action. Check newly unlocked entries when the game flags them. This habit reduces cleanup, but it is not a promise that one blind run can collect entries associated with different branches.

What is a sensible original-game cleanup plan?

  1. Finish a continuous first playthrough so you understand the scenes and preserve your own story decisions.
  2. Record which episode’s Librarian award remains locked, then inspect that episode’s Book of Fables gaps.
  3. Use an entry-specific guide for the original platform and version you are playing. Identify the required chapter and branch before replaying it.
  4. Read the game’s own replay and save warnings before confirming. A collectibles run and a continuing story save are different intentions.
  5. After the relevant scene, check the entry and the platform’s actual unlock notification. Do not assume an award registered solely because you selected a guide’s suggested response.

The episode routes are scene summaries, not exhaustive collectible checklists. They deliberately avoid claiming every interaction needed for every lore entry. The major choices guide explains which replay decisions may also change character fates or available scenes.

What should remaster players wait to verify?

A remaster can retain the original story while changing its achievements or save systems. Before planning a platinum run, confirm the published list for your exact platform, whether every original lore entry remains, how chapter replay records entries, and whether an old save or trophy set transfers. None of those follows automatically from the announcement that all five episodes are included.

We also do not assign a remaster completion time, difficulty score, minimum playthrough count, or missable-trophy total before the list and unlock behavior are checked. Those numbers would look convenient but could send you into an unnecessary replay.

Where can you verify the original requirements?

IGN’s Achievements and Trophies page lists the original awards and their requirements. The original Steam page confirms achievement support for that release. Check release timing for when the new edition becomes available to verify. This page will need a platform-specific update when the remaster’s actual list is established.
